Keeping the house clean with DappleWednesday, April 12, 2017
Hands up if you like your house to be super tidy and clean, even with three kids running around! ✋ My friends think that I have a slight OCD when it comes to my house cleanliness, because I have a need to make sure that everything is packed in their respective cubby holes / drawers and cabinets.. and everything has to be cleaned through all the time.
The thing is, I don't think I am alone with this? 😂 I think most mothers have a certain degree of compulsion to ensure that our houses are reasonably clean and hygienic for our little kids.. also because we don't have a helper, not even a part-time one anymore, I need great products to help me to clean the house without draining all my energy.
Recently, the kind folks from Dear Baby sent us some Dapple products to experience so here's a little feature on them!
Dapple is a USA brand with its products all manufactured in the States as well. Powered by plant-based formula, all of Dapple products do not contain toxic ingredients like SLS and SLES, 1,4-dioxane, formaldehyde and synthetic dyes.
Its all-natural baby-safe formula isn't just a wonderful news to parents, but also great for the environmentally-conscious families as they are also certified by the nonprofit B Lab to have met rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
Dapple has a huge range of products available to suit most needs of parents, but they are majorly split into three big categories:
Pure N Clean Bottles & Dishes Cleaner
Retails at $15.90, available in many different smells (click above to buy!)
We received an item from each category and I personally love the Baby Bottle & Dish Liquid the most because I think it is not only great on bottles and dishes, it is also fantastic on stains on the floor and mats.
The chance to test out Dapple came within a few days after I received the products. 😂 I was letting the kids colour while I was prepping dinner... and usually.. usually, nothing really happens and the kids get occupied, stay quiet, while I take the chance to cook.
Not so much for that fateful day.
Somehow, the older girl mis-coloured her drawing paper and it ended up all over the mat. Btw, the mat was only a couple of weeks' old so you guys can imagine my reaction when I saw this.
Anyways, since I've got nothing else to lose, I decided to give Dapple's Bottle and Dishes cleaner a go. I would usually use Mama Lemon on such stains but since it is a play mat where kids often lie and sit on, using a all-natural kids' friendly cleaner would be a perfect option.
I applied the Bottle and Dishes Cleaner neat on the mat and then proceed to clean it up in a circular motion using a damp cloth. I only use two drops at a time since I am spot cleaning, so I wouldn't want to have too much soap on it until I couldn't get rid of them completely.
I repeated my cleaning over the crayons and used about 8 drops of Dapple's Cleaner in all, and everything was reasonably clean after 10 minutes! If you have the High-chair and Toy Cleaner, you could use that too but the versatility of the cleaners also meant that you don't need to spend a lot of money to buy a whole lot of different products for different uses.
Natural Baby Laundry Detergent Pods
Retails at $19.90
The Laundry Detergent Pods are my next favourite item of the lot because it is so easy to use! Dylan has a very mild case of eczema (so do I), so I am quite particular with the type of detergent I use for our clothes.
The Natural Baby Laundry Detergent Pods come in separately packed pieces, but it is super interesting because the packages actually dissolve in water, so we won't have to deal with excessive plastic and packaging. It is also easy to use - simply throw a pod with the laundry and start washing!
It is simple and straight-forward, and I don't have to worry about over-pouring my detergent... which makes life really easy for me now.
I also love that these individual pods can be stored separately in a Ziplock bag and use it when we travel.

If you would like the best of both worlds - to have a product that is not only child-friendly but also environmentally-friendly, then you should give Dapple a go. Besides, I really appreciate that the price-point is really affordable, and not crazy expensive for something so natural and chemical-free.
