My kids love their milk.

While there are plenty of recommendations that children above 1 year old are great for fresh milk, my kids always prefer their formula milk because it keeps them full for a longer period of time. Personally, I like to give my children formula milk as well because it contains more nutrients than regular fresh milk.

Recently, we have been introduced to Aptamil formula milk. For those who may be unfamiliar to the product, Aptamil is brought to you by Europe’s No. 1 Baby Milk Company* and specially imported from New Zealand.

Available in both Stage 3 Aptamil Toddler Gold+ and Stage 4 Aptamil Junior Gold+, these milk powder are specially formulated to nutritionally support our child’s growth and development.

Why Aptamil?

First of all, Aptamil is the milk powder that has the closest amount of recommended DHA intake by the World Health Organisation. The below table are the recommended requirements for children:

  • 12 to 24 months - 10 to 12mg/kg of DHA
  • 2 to 4 years old - 100 - 150mg/kg DHA + EPA
  • 4 to 6 years old - 150-200mg/kg of DHA + EPA

DHA is an important building block for brain and eye development and you would be happy to know that for Aptamil's Toddler Gold, there is 125mg of DHA in a day's serving and 132mg for the Stage 4 Junior Gold+!

Apart from that, the milk powder also contains patented Prebiotic Blend, Zinc, Calcium, Vitamin D and Iron help support children's natural defences, development of strong bones and teeth, Vitamin D helps calcium absorption. There is also no sucrose added to the formula!
