Have you ever wished that you have perfect eyesight? Well... I do. Having to live with myopia for a large part of my life makes simple things like watching TV, reading a book etc inconvenient without my glasses.

While glasses are my life saviour in a way, I discovered contact lenses in my teenage years and boy! Suddenly my eyes didn't need to look tiny anymore, suddenly I don't need to worry about my fingers smudging my lens. Suddenly I don't have to worry about the depression mark I get on my nose bridge because I wear too much glasses!

I was really happy to be wearing contact lenses also because I stopped breaking my spectacles because of netball. 😅😅

The only downside of wearing contact lens was its maintenance. I started off with monthly contact lenses which required extensive cleaning and storing. There were days when I came home sooooo tired, all I wanted was to shower and sleep; yet I still had to prep my hydrogen peroxide solution for my contact lens so that they will be ready for me to wear the next day.

Talking about hydrogen peroxide solutions, I still remember we had to wait for at least 7 hours before we can wear our lenses again so it is really super inconvenient when I come home late and need to leave house early the next day!

Subsequently, because of hygiene issues, I changed from my monthly contact lenses to bi-weekly ones. I feel that they are more moisturising and my eyes felt less dry as compared to my monthlies. Acuvue Oasys' bi-weekly lenses were the ones I used throughout my University life, the days I play netball, going to clubs for parties etc.

When motherhood came along, my lifestyle once again changed. I went out less often, which meant that I didn't need to use my contact lenses as often. It came to a point where my bi-weeklies were probably only used for about 3 times a week before I had to dispose them for new pairs, which I think is quite wasteful!

Thankfully, because of this collaboration with Acuvue, I got an opportunity to try out their ever-popular ACUVUE® OASYS® 1-Day lenses instead of the usual bi-weekly ones I use regularly.

The new Hydraluxe™ technology of the ACUVUE® OASYS® 1-Day reduces friction, which makes blinking more comfortable and to reduce eye fatigue. This Tear Infused Design made up of an enhanced network of tear-like molecules enables the lens to integrate with and support the tear film, giving you an overall comfort when wearing it.

Another interesting selling point about the ACUVUE® OASYS® 1-Day is that it comes with UV protection. 😱😱ACUVUE is the only contact lens brand with internationally-recognised standards of UV protections and given the climate we all live in - sunny and all, we have a higher chance of contracting cataracts and other UV-related eye conditions.

As you have read earlier, I have always enjoyed wearing the OASYS®. Over the years, I have tried and tested many different brands and none really fits me well because of my eye curvature. You see, most contact lens are sold in the 8.5mm curvature model - this is a more common fit for most people.

Unfortunately for me, the 8.5mm doesn't fit me at all. When worn, the lens would not grasp onto my eyeballs. Instead, it "floats" around, this results in me having to constantly blink/rub my eyes to readjust the lens. I hated it. It makes my eyes so uncomfortable, I would throw my lenses away in less than 3 hours.

ACUVUE® OASYS® really fits me very well because it doesn't only come in the usual 8.5mm curvature, but they also have the 9.0mm one. The ACUVUE® OASYS® is also one of the lenses that has the highest water content, making wearing really comfortable. I could wear it up to 10 hours (even though we were advised not to... hehe) without any discomfort at all.

The best part for me is that I can come back home, take out my contact lenses and throw them away. Absolutely zero maintenance. I don't need to keep anymore contact lens cases, I don't need to buy big bottles of contact lens solution only to under-use them... I would think I am actually saving more.

Try it for yourself!
