[Adv] The Icing Room: Tis' a season to be unique!

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Today's 28th of November - how did November fly by so quickly?! Just 2 more days and we will be in the last month of 2012 - another of my favourite month because December is a month of feast, gifts, holidays... and of course, cakes for the sweet tooths like me.

Talking about cakes, today, I brought Nian and Dylan to The Icing Room to pick up a Mini Yule Log in preparation for the festive season. I think it's a right size for us - I mean, I must try very hard not to binge on these delicious desserts!

There are many logcakes in the market, so what's so special about The Icing Room's? Well, if you do know The Icing Room, they are specially known for their DIY cakes. I actually made one for my XY in 2010 for her birthday... and I was really superbly proud of it lol.

To bring the DIY spirit even further, this time, we get to design a log cake ourselves!

For $18.80, you can choose either the Vanilla Strawberry or the Chocolate flavour, and it comes with an array of decorative items for you to use.

Before I begin decorating my mini Yule Log, I actually sat down and considered very carefully what kinda design I want, because my design may just bring me an iPad Mini or a Canon Ixus camera + Selphy printer! You can also stand a chance to win these goodies, just read on for more details okay?

I decided that my log cake shall consist of the following:

- hearts : Because X'mas is all about love, peace and joy with your close friends and family

- Santa : Who else to give me presents then?

- X'mas Tree : I wanna have a winter wonderland feel, so a tree will definitely add a touch of festive to it

- Merry X'mas standee

- Little golden balls to make everything sparkly and magical.

After deciding what are the decorative items I was going to use, I sat down and let my creative juice take over.

Some 20 minutes later........................

TA-DAA!!

Nice or not!!!

I used purple and green frosting to write out a jolly message. Wanted to do a "ho, ho, ho!" actually but I really wanted to play with the frostings more... so I wrote something really long. Hehe.

Then I have little golden balls sprinkled everywhere, along with the candy hearts.

Here's what I did at the back:

Of course must write down my pen name, with more hearts sprinkling everywhere.

It was really super fun sitting down and decorating a X'mas cake like that.

So after decorating, what's next?

1. Snap a picture

2. Pack the cake in the beautiful box, bring it over to your party. Cut and eat the cake.

3. After eating, take part in the DIY Yule Log Photo Contest.

4. Upload your pictures to The Icing Room's Facebook Page, under the Contest tab.

Quite easy ba?

Then of course, you get your friends to vote for you, so that you get to win fabulous prizes!

Anyway, they have every incentive to vote for you cuz lucky voters also win The Icing Room vouchers! And if they have been good this year, they can also play with your iPad Mini when you win it right?

Or be your date when you go USS or GV to watch movie.

Apart from that, the Top 10 winners get to party exclusively at The Icing Room come 22 December. (You can bring your favourite voter along also. See, it's a season of happiness for everyone!)

Apart from the DIY Yule Log, The Icing Room also has an array of Christmas cookies, cupcakes and other pre-designed log cakes that will definitely make everyone glee with joy.
