We Caught The Avengers!

Yes, after 6 months since my last movie, Nian and I caught the very-anticipated Avengers in Jurong Point's all-new Golden Village!

After going through a $4.5 million dollar renovation, GV Jurong Point now boasts luxurious Camatic cinema seats with a 7.1 Dolby Sound system and EAW speakers. I mean, what else is more important in a cinema than clear movie images and powerful sound system? :)

If you were to look carefully at the backdrop behind me, you'd realize that Nian and I were very lucky to be one of the few patrons who managed to sneak a movie on the VERY day GV Jurong Point re-opens!

Apart from that, there are also a lot of promotions going on in GV Jurong Point. From 1st of May, you get these following freebies when you purchase a pair of tickets:

Monday: Free regular coke with purchase of one large popcorn
Tuesday: $2 for two cheesy hotdogs (that is buy-1-get-1-free!)
Wednesday: All-day student pricing and $2 off Nachos combo
Friday & Saturday: Free late-night parking at Jurong Point (great chance to bring your date out!)
Sunday: Complimentary restaurant vouchers with every pair of tickets bought before 2PM

We even managed to watch the movie with Auntie Lucy on the opening day, hahaha! Apart from Chef Eric as the shi nai sha shou (auntie killer), Dennis Chew is officially the next auntie assassin. Just look at how happy I am. :P

And we had free Magnum! :D

After adjourning to the cinema hall, Nian was impressed with the wide leg space GV Jurong Point has now. Just look at it! I can sit on his lap and I think my knee caps wouldn't touch the back of the other seat lor. Hehe.

Let the movie experience begin!!!

Avengers Review

Actually, to be very honest, I didn't think the Avengers lived up to the high anticipation. It kinda reminded me of Transformers, where there were a lot of actions, but the story line was rather weak.

I mean, yes. Of course the Avengers are all about saving the Earth, but having one weak Loki wrecking so much havoc kinda makes it a little too far-fetched for me. And seriously, Thor is too soft-hearted already please. How come he can fight Iron Man so fiercely, but hardly used any strength on his brother!

Loki's a demi-god. I'm sure he can take some serious beating. :P

But that being said, I really enjoyed the little funny quotes and scenes that Marvel has inserted in the movie. And I appreciate the fact that they used the same actors from Captain America, Thor and Iron Man back in the Avengers!

Seeing Hawk-Eye the first time was very impressive. And so is Black Widow (love how she interrogates people. She could literally get whatever information she wants!). But Iron Man saves the day again. Haiya.

GV Jurong Point is located at Jurong Point 1.
Nearest MRT station is Boon Lay.

Go enjoy~!
